William Stensson, executive chairman of Sheridan Nurseries, has announced the appointment of Colin Cruji as CEO and president of Sheridan Nurseries, which has eight garden center retail locations in the Greater Toronto area.
Cruji’s previous experience includes his role as senior vice president of Canada Bread Company, a division of Grupo Bimbo, where he was responsible for national retail and field sales as well as leading Stonemill Bakehouse. Cruji received an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration and an Executive MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
In July, Sheridan Nurseries announced that Karl Stensson would be stepping down as president and CEO, but that he will continue to serve as vice executive chairman and director of brand integrity for Sheridan. Stensson became president in 2009 and then CEO and president in 2015.
In addition to its eight retail garden centers, Sheridan has more than 900 acres of farmland, and is No. 6 on Garden Center magazine's 2017 Top 100 Independent Garden Centers List.
