Linder's Greenhouses Inc. based in St. Paul, Minn., posted an announcement on its website that the more than 100-year-old independent garden center would close in the coming weeks.
"The Linder family has made the decision to close Linder’s Greenhouses Inc. We will be having an orderly wind down of the business in the coming weeks. We would like to thank all our customers, our staff and the Twin Cities community for their support in our 100 years of business," the note said.
An ABC affiliate interviewed the garden center's assistant manager David Linder about the decision, who said the company was once a thriving business that started selling celery and eventually expanded to flowers, but that many factors led them to the decision to close the company.
