Container gardening was in the spotlight at the Boston Flower & Garden Show, March 16-20 (TheBostonFlowerShow.com). The theme was “A Burst of Color: Celebrating the Container Garden”—a testament to the continued popularity of this trend. Each of the show’s display gardens featured at least one significant container of some kind (formal urns, topiary, raised beds, built-in planters, ceramics, vertical gardens, unusual items re-purposed as containers). Here’s a visual tour of eye-catching containers used by garden designers this year. Photos by Tony Scarpetta Photography |
What’s the best way to jazz up a deck? Add visual interest by mixing and matching containers of different shapes, sizes and finishes.
This year’s Boston Flower & Garden Show focused on container gardens, from grandiose to low-key.
Displays throughout the show illustrated how containers can be functional and add decorative touches to any setting.
