Contra bass
The Contra bass measures nine feet in length and produces powerfully rich, melodic tones. The tuning is the “expanded” Quartal. The Quartal is based on intervals of fourths and fifths. The size (voice) contrabass is one half octave higher than the size (voice) basso profundo. This precision-tuned chime is meticulously hand-crafted in Austin, Texas, in the U.S.A. A great addition to any garden or public area. UPS shippable. The overall hanging length, from the top of the knot to the bottom of the windcatcher is 108’. The weight is 100 pounds.
Basso Profundo
The Basso Profundo is an astounding 14 feet. The tuning is the “expanded” Quartal. The Quartal is based on intervals of fourths and fifths. The size (voice) basso profundo is one half octave lower than the size (voice) contrabass. This is the lowest octave chime we make. This precision-tuned chime is meticulously hand-crafted in Austin, Texas, in the U.S.A. A great addition to any garden or public area. The overall hanging length, from the top of the knot to the bottom of the windcatcher is 14 feet. The weight is 200 pounds.
Quartal bass
A musical palindrome, the Quartal scale is based on intervals of fourths and fifths. The size (voice) bass is one half octave higher than the size (voice) contrabass. The overall hanging length, from the top of the knot to the bottom of the windcatcher is 90”. The weight is 45 pounds.
