The Favorite New Foliage Plant at this year’s Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition is Aglaonema ‘Ruby Sunset’ and the Favorite New Flowering Plant is Anthurium Surprise.
‘Ruby Sunset’ from Twyford International is part of the Java Jewell collection. Foliage features vivid-red accents against deep forest green. It grows well in low light and will tolerate low temperatures. It also requires little maintenance.
Surprise from Oglesby Plants International has both red and white spathes that mottle from dark red to light pink and white. No two flowers look the same. It’s recommended for 6-, 8- and 10-inch container production.
