Wilsonville, Oregon (June 20, 2017) – Farwest’s 2017 "Be Far From Ordinary" theme takes front stage at this year’s "Women in Horticulture" Networking Event during the Farwest show, which takes place Aug. 23 to 25 in Portland, Ore. "Women in Horticulture" brings women together to establish connections, share knowledge, and encourage progress to advance women in the green industry. The event will be a place to network and discuss the unique opportunities and challenges women face in today’s business.
Leslie Halleck of Halleck Horticultural, LLC is the featured guest this year. Halleck is a certified professional horticulturist (ASHS) with 25 years of green industry experience. She currently runs Halleck Horticultural, LLC, providing horticultural consulting, business and marketing strategy, product development and branding, and content creation for green industry companies. She is also a regular columnist and contributor to Garden Center and Greenhouse Management magazines.
The industry networking event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 24 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in VIP Room B (2nd Floor).
“’Women in Horticulture’ is one more way Farwest advances our industry,” says Allan Niemi, director of events for OAN. “Providing a forum for shakers and movers to connect and share ideas and expertise expands the horizon for women and, through them, everyone in horticulture.”
