Ambius, a plantscape company based in Buffalo Grove, Ill., received 11 awards -- including the prestigious Judges Award for "Best in Show" -- during the recent Plantscape Industry Expo awards banquet in Las Vegas.
The company was cited for the Judges Award for its work on the Living Wall at Longwood Gardens (pictured). The Ambius Project Development Team created the wall as part of an expansion project at the gardens. The expansion features a terraced lawn, lush new plantings and the largest indoor green wall in North American, spanning more than 4,000 square feet and showcasing 25 species of tropical plants and ferns.
The Ambius Project Development team also received two Awards of Excellence, one for the installation of the living wall and the second for masterminding the complex rigging of a suspended atrium tree aboard the Celebrity Cruise Line "Eclipse."
