America in Bloom named to the 2010 Associations Advance Honor Roll

America in Bloom (AIB) has been named to the 2010 Associations Advance America (AAA) Honor Roll, a national awards program sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives & The Center for Association Leadership in Washington, D.C. The prestigious awards program recognizes associations that propel America forward – with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship, and community service.

The Associations Advance America Awards are presented year-round to recognize associations that propel America forward – with innovative projects in skills training and development; ethical, technical or professional standards; economic development; business and social innovation; information and knowledge creation; public education and information; civic and community volunteer activities; and citizenship and democracy enhancement.

Being selected for the 2010 Associations Advance America Honor Roll is recognition that AIB is a meaningful organization. The award recognizes organizations that offer innovative programs that help move America forward. We are grateful for this recognition as it helps reinforce our resolve to help America plant pride in its communities,” said Dr. Marvin Miller, President of the America in Bloom Board of Directors.

The AIB program provides participating towns with a framework in which the municipal, residential, and commercial sectors can work together to enhance their quality of life. To date, nearly 200 towns in 38 states have participated in the program which offers mentoring, coaching, and awards for excellence.

In addition to being named to the Associations Advance America Honor Roll, America in Bloom was honored in 2009 with the American Horticultural Society’s Urban Beautification Award, for facilitating beautification programs throughout the United States.
