The 2011 American Garden Award-winning flowers were recently announced. The award program, now in its third year, featured seven new flower varieties chosen by their breeders for excellent garden performance. Once these new varieties were planted and put on display by the participating gardens, the public was invited to vote on their favorite using one of several voting methods. The votes have been tallied and the three winners are:

Second Place Winner: Dahlia ‘Dahlinova Hypnotica Lavender’

Third Place Winner: Petunia ‘Easy Wave Neon Rose’
These winners are available as seeds or plugs from brokers, distributors or grower and will be heavily promoted as AGA Winners to the home gardener prior to the 2012 gardening season.
