April & Ashley has announced the relaunch of the sold-out Barbra’s Baby rose bush as a limited release potted rose bush after the immediate sell-out of the bare root version named by and after celebrity Barbra Streisand.
This new pink-hued rose was discovered in the namesake’s Malibu private grounds as a natural sport from a deep red Lasting Love rose bush. Barbra’s Baby will be released on April & Ashley’s website July 19, 2025, in honor of National Barbara Day, which honors all spellings of the name.
April & Ashley is one of only two rose companies with exclusive rights to sell Barbra’s Baby rose bushes.
“Barbra’s Baby is something special. We’ve spent the last five years nurturing it, shaping it, making sure it was ready,” said Tyler Francis, co-CEO and founding member of April & Ashley. “To be one of just two rose growers trusted to share it with the world — that’s an honor we don’t take lightly.”
As Barbra’s Baby blooms, this hybrid tea rose unveils velvety petals with pink, peach and golden hues.
“When we first launched Barbra’s Baby earlier this year as a bare root bush, the excitement was uncontained, as it sold out immediately,” Francis said. “The sensation for this newly discovered rose by Barbra Streisand herself, along with master rosarian Dan Bifano, inspired our team to relaunch this unique variety as a potted rose bush so people can enjoy Barbra’s Baby year-round.”
April & Ashley offers other celebrity-inspired rose bushes, including Francis’ favorite rose, Julie Andrews, along with Patsy Cline and others.
When Barbra’s Baby first launched nationwide, only 2,000 rose bushes were available. For April & Ashley’s potted rose bush launch of this collectible variety, only 85 will be available. However, the original bare root rose bush version will be restocked and offered in November 2025 for the bare root seasonal offering.
