The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market opened Jan. 12, on time and on schedule for its full-week run, with showrooms ready for business and retailers registering across all four AmericasMart buildings.
Snow and ice in Atlanta made travel difficult. Flights were delayed or cancelled. Icy roads made driving treacherous. Conditions have improved over the last few days, thanks to warmer temperatures and an influx of snow removal machinery.
Garden retailers are hitting showrooms, including the newly expanded Birding & Backyard Nature section of the Temporaries. This new collection will showcase birding and nature-related products, including: bird feeders, bird houses, bird seed, bird baths, birding and nature books, field guides, optics, hardware, birding software, nature-themed giftware, note cards, magnets, bookmarks, butterfly houses, bat houses, wildlife art, bird-themed jewelry, birding accessories, recycled nature products, water garden supplies and décor.
The Atlanta Market runs from Jan. 12-19, with the Market Temporaries scheduled for Jan. 14-18, 2011. AmericasMart and its exhibitors are also offering extended shopping hours for buyers until 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13-Sunday, Jan. 16.
Garden Center publisher and editor, Yale Youngblood, is covering the show. Check back for the latest updates on new products and trends discovered at AmericasMart.
