ECGC Distributors, Ltd. has named Border Concepts Inc. (Charlotte, N.C.) the winner of the annual ECGC Award of Excellence, Garden Supply. This award recognizes the premiere garden supply vendor in the United States for the most distinctive product and service in 2015. (Service provided in 2015; award presented in 2016.)
The Garden Supply Buyers of all ECGC firms perform an evaluation on each preferred vendor. This evaluation contains objective criteria and a graduated scale that evaluates product and customer service. Scores are tabulated and winners are determined. The winner is the vendor with the highest score.
The award presentation was made at the IGC Show in Chicago on Aug. 17 by Dean Darin, store director and merchandise manager of Hard Lines for English Garden Center.
Border Concepts operates out of four locations: two distribution centers from Washington to North Carolina, a manufacturing facility in Lexington, N.C. with headquarters is in Charlotte, N.C. The company's line of products is either made in the USA or imported from countries such as Spain, Italy, Mexico, Germany, Romania, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and others.
This Award of Excellence, Garden Supply has been given since 1998. ECGC Distributors also gives out the Award of Distinction to the highest ranking foliage supplier at the TPIE show in Ft. Lauderdale each January.
