Winter Garden, Fla. – Container Centralen, Inc. (CC, Inc.) is pleased to announce the winners of the 4th annual Rack Building Competition, which took place January 19, 2017, during the Tropical Plant Industry Expo (TPIE) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. After receiving a record number of video entries ahead of the event, three finalists were selected to compete against the defending champion during the competition at TPIE.
The 2017 winners are:
1st Place: Geraldmike Ferrer (2016 defending champion)
Prides Corner Farms, Lebanon, Conn.
Time: 23.3 seconds
Prize: $1,000 for Mr. Ferrer and $2,000 for Prides Corner Farms
2nd Place: Ben Eagle
Welby Gardens, Denver, Colo.
Time: 26.05 seconds
Prize: $750 for Mr. Eagle and $1,500 for Welby Gardens
3rd Place: Josh Dudley
Flowerwood Nursery, Loxley, Ala.
Time: 26.44 seconds
Prize: $500 for Mr. Dudley and $1,000 for Flowerwood Nursery
4th Place: Jorge Rosales Cruz
McCorkle Nurseries, Dearing, Ga.
Time: 29.39 seconds
Prize: $250 for Mr. Cruz and $500 for McCorkle Nurseries
In addition to the cash prizes, all four competitors and their company’s CC corporate contact received a 3-day CC-sponsored trip to Fort Lauderdale, including airfare and local transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals throughout the event.
Participating companies appreciate the competition as an opportunity to recognize team members who work incredibly hard behind the scenes on rack building and dock efficiencies and as a way to have some workplace fun.

The annual CC Rack Building Competition is scheduled to return for the 5th time during TPIE 2018. More details and entry information will be available later in the year.
