Last weekend, Sid's Greenhouse in Chicagoland launched the spring season in a big way, hosting the annual Sid's Garden Expo. And when we say "big" we mean "BIG!" How about this for a schedule of events at the garden center's Palos Hills, Ill., location:
Seminar topics included "Organic Lawn & Pest Controls," "Planting Spring Bulbs for Summer Color," "Soil Health/Organics," "Lawn Care Essentials," "Rose Care Essentials," "Pond & Water Gardening Basics," "Spring Bulbs for Summer Color," "Common Insects & Diseases on Trees & Shrubs in Chicagoland," "Back to Basics: 4 Steps to a New Landscape," and "Feeding Wild Birds."
All-told, the event covered two days and served to remind longstanding and potential customers why Sid's Greenhouse bills itself as "Chicagoland's premier garden center."
Do you think everyone who attended was giving a big green thumb's up to that distinction after the Expo? Do you think most of those folks who had their gardening thirst whetted will be back? The answers can be summed up in two hyphens: You-betcha! and Cha-Ching!
Looking for a Cha-ching! you might have missed? Go to the search box and type Cha-ching! Items are listed by date.
