Cha-ching! (10-5)

This New Jersey garden center plans to take to the road to bond with its customers

Continuing its role as trusted source for all things food and garden, Sickles Market in Little Silver, N.J., is launching its latest venture - “Sickles Market On the Road Tours.”  Featuring chartered coaches for travel to and from specially selected locations, the “On The Road Tours” will introduce guests to unique and exciting food and garden destinations with Sickles Market’s own experts as guides.

The inaugural “On the Road” adventures will launch later this year with two visits to one of the world's most celebrated gardens, Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa., just outside Philadelphia. The first tour will take place on Nov. 2 for the Chrysanthemum Festival. The second will be conducted Dec. 7 for the popular Christmas Festival. Each day-long excursion costs $125 per person, and each packs a mighty bang-for-buck payoff, including lunch and countless opportunities to appreciate gardening at its finest with the store's stellar staff.

“Our professionals love sharing their knowledge, and we have an eager customer base hungry to experience intimate glimpses into the fascinating worlds of food, culture and gardens and more,” said Bob Sickles, the third-generation owner of Sickles Market – a 103-year-old, national-award-winning business located on the family’s property dating back to a King’s Land Grant in 1663. “We are starting close to home because incredibly unique sites are located just hours away, but we are planning trips as far away as Italy and beyond."

Sickles said there will be exciting, fun drawings for Sickles Market products and services while en route and delicious treats prepared by Sickles chefs and bakers. Gifts range from custom wreaths and custom potting at your home, to gardeners' goodie baskets and gourmet food gifts.

Obviously, ventures of this sort take planning on the part of many, but there's no question that they help solidify Sickles Market's reputation as a "go to" garden center. And a reputation like that is usually measured in plenty of "Cha-ching!"
