In addition to having a "way cool" name, the Rhoads Garden draws attention to the North Wales, Pa., store by posting an array of clever and practical gardening ideas on a page on its website.
The page features a series of garden vignettes, complete with plants and decorative accessories that go well with them. The pictures show, in detail, scenes that are easily translatable from store to lawn and give today's new shoppers -- the Gen X and Gen Y types -- a place where they can "kick the tires" even before entering the garden center.
Given that today's new shoppers often do online searches before ever getting in the car to go shop, this is a great "hook" that Rhoads Garden has implemented. And, of course, once these customers do visit the store, they'll find the items necessary to turn "idea" into "garden."
And that's when the staff members at Rhoads Garden get to do their favorite dance, the "Cha-ching!"
Looking for a Cha-ching! you might have missed? Go to the search box and type Cha-ching! Items are listed by date.
