In promotional pieces, Moana Nursery is billed as "northern Nevada’s premier garden center nursery." Given the quantity and quality of the education programs it hosts each year, that seems an apt description.
This spring alone, the Reno-based garden center will tackle these topics: "Organic Vegetable Gardening," "Landscape Analysis," "Early Spring Lawn and Landscape Care," "Landscape Design," "Birdscaping," "Roses," and "Vegetable Gardens." Each session is conducted by a staff member or by an expert in the respective fields and geared toward practical ways attendees can make the most of their interests.
All seminars are free and and last one hour. The education programs have become so popular that Eileen Carter, Moana Nursery's Marketing & Rewards Manager, urges customers to arrive 15 minutes early to be sure they can find seating.
There are certainly many ways a garden center can bond with its customers, but Moana has proven that when you become both THE source and THE resource for garden products and information in your region, you also become THE store of choice among customers. And that invariably leads to a big Cha-ching!
