Redenta's has been organic from Day One, back in 1992 when owner Ruth Kinler named her start-up company in Texas for an aunt who is a nun in a convent in Siena, Italy. Kinler wanted her shops to reflect a European influence -- and she wanted to make sure they fostered environmental stewardship in the regions where they were located.
Today, she has two stores, one in Dallas and one in Arlington, and that original goal of sharing the organic gospel is still a defining factor that sets Redenta's apart from its competitors. "Redenta's is committed to a natural and sustainable approach to gardening and is 100-percent organic offering soil amendments and organic solutions to common garden problems," Kinler said.
To put some walking to the talking, the two locations now offer one of the North Texas region's more sophisticated organic fertilzation services. "If you want to maintain your landscape organically, but do not have the time or the inclination, Redenta's has a service designed for you," Kinler said. "A Redenta’s organic lawn fertilization crew will come out five times per year, beginning with a service in late February/early March and continuing every other month, with the last service in October."
The service underscores Redenta's commitment to its mission, to its area of expertise and to its customers. And stores that score that hat trick generally score a lot of Cha-ching! in the process.
