At Ricky & Lucy's Country Greenhouse, the substance keeps pace with the style. But ... what style!
A renovated 1914-era barn and historic granary serve as retail space at the garden center, which has become a retail destination on the windswept prairie in Sidney, Neb. One reason for that is the fact that this place is just so darned appealing.
"The number one, most important thing that makes us different, is it's just very inviting," said Teri Wolff, who owns and operates the garden center with husband Dan. "You drive down a little country road -- there are paths everywhere, gardens everywhere. People can come in an relax. The gardens aren't lush-lush. We try to bring in only things that will grow in our environment. Not matter where you are in teh world, there are plants you can grow that will look beautiful."
For looking beautiful -- and for supplying the region's customers with an array of unique products and "way cool" plants, Ricky & Lucy's Country Greenhouse has managed to turn said folks into customers for life. And that's always good for a heapin' helpin' of "Cha-ching!"
