Molbak's Garden & Home in the Seattle area is many great things, not the least of which is the role it plays in being both source and resource for inspirational gardening ideas.
Almost everything Molbak's does is designed to show gardeners new and better ways to ply their craft. Even the garden center's education program is huge on the "show and tell" aspect of the gardening experience. A recent seminar conducted at the store was called "Designing Garden Memories," and the description of the class all but drove customers to the center for the session:
Gardens should be experienced, not just observed. With help from beautiful photos, you'll discover how to design a garden filled with creative entrances, pathways, and garden 'moments' that lure you into the landscape and leave you with lasting garden memories!
Marketing efforts such as this are great at planting a seed, as it were, that the garden experience isn't something you do as much as something you live. As you help those customers grow, you in turn grow the business. And that's what Cha-ching! is all about.
