Gerten's in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., has long been considered a garden center that connects with its customers. One reason: Great events such as the annual Perennial Festival coming up June 11-12.
The event is big on food, music, special sale prices and free seminars and consultation, a collection that has "fun" written all over it.
This year's program will feature music by a popular jazz band, the JoAnn Funk Trio, and food from Tinucci's restaurant, so even the peripheral gardener has a reason to attend. And the hard-core green thumbs will certainly enjoy the education program (free 10-minute landscape design consultations and seminars on the top 10 perennials, small fruits, rain gardens, etc.).
Throw in the sales prices on all things perennial, and you have an annual BIG EVENT that helps Gerten's stay top-of-mind with customers throughout the Twin Cities area. And that's always worth some ... wait for it ... "Cha-ching!"
