North Havens Gardens is an upscale garden center in Dallas. As such, it offers items you might not normally find in a lawn and garden venue -- and markets in ways not conventionally seen on the GC scene.
For instance, on the latter front, North Havens Gardens' promotional pieces for its "Paint the Town Pink" after-hours shopping event to raise money for the "Susan G. Komen for the Cure" breast cancer research project feature an array of succelent plants -- in a brassier planter. Eye-catching, for sure.
Likewise, its merchandising of glass mulch for indoor plants. While you might be inclined to debate the nurturing ability of this unlikely plant support system, there's no question colorful glass inside a planter containing indoor greenery gives it an unusal look -- one that almost invariably stops shoppers in their tracks.
And you know what stopped shoppers often turn into? That's right: Cha-ching!
