McDade's Nursery in Tool, Texas, is borrowing an episode from one of the more popular television shows and soon will award a lucky customer a $1,000 Extreme Garden Makeover.
To enter, McDade's customers have to spend $20 at the store. If they spend $40 they earn two entries -- and so on, meaning that the more customers buy during their visits, the better chance they have to see their investments pay off.
The Extreme Garden Makeover contest started on June 1 and will run through the month of June. The winner will be selected at random at the close of business on June 30.
While the promotion might not pack the emotional punch of the show that inspired it -- who hasn't welled up at least once while watching "Extreme Home Makeover"? -- it has the potential to pack some financial punch for store owner Stephen Gent and his staff. And that's what "Cha-ching!" is all about.
