Sometimes "Cha-ching!" isn't so much about what you bring in but what you give out. As evidence, we present Beier's Greenhouse in Grand Rapids, Minn.
Saturday, Beier's will host a root beer float festival. Root beer and ice cream will be on sale either separately or combined, with $3 being the going rate for a float and $1 for a glass of rootbeer. The garden center also will sell hotdogs for $2.50 each.
Where's the "Cha-ching!" factor? All proceeds will benefit Mila Adams, a local first-grader who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. Beier's will donate what it raises this weekend to help Mila's family pay for chemotherapy and radiation treatments in Boston.
It's not uncommon for people in the green industry to extend a helping hand to those in need; in fact, that's one of the great traits of the folks who do what you do. Today, we salute some of those folks, the members of team at Beier's, who obviously know that some "Cha-ching!" is more important than others.
