Swanson's Nursery in Seattle has teamed with Pratt Fine Arts Center to celebrate summer with a one-of-a-kind outdoor fine art exhibition. "Gallery in the Garden" features handblown glass, forged ironwork, carved stone and more, all created by local artists.
There's also a display of unique sculptural birdhouses, as well as a small yet delightful grouping of accessibly priced artworks by local artists on display.
The exhibition will run through the end of the month at the garden center. All art sales benefit Pratt Fine Arts Center, a nonprofit arts center in Seattle offering arts education to everyone and resources for artists at all levels.
This kind of philanthropy shows that the Swanson's staff is not only involved with its community, but that it takes an active role in promoting something that is of benefit to many. Ultimately, many of the many will return to the store to conduct business -- and that's always good for some "Cha-ching!"
