Roger's Gardens in Corona Del Mar, Calif., isn't your "garden variety" garden center. In fact, "lifestyle store" might be a more apt description, given that the upscale retail operation offers gifts, furniture, collectibles and floral arrangements -- in addition the staple plants you normally find at a garden center.
This month, visitors (patrons?) also can catch the Daniel Aldana Art Lecture "California Impressionism: A View from the Trenches" & "Coastline Surf" in the Art Gallery, where roughly each quarter noted area artists have their work on display (and for sale).
The management team at Roger's Gardens has taken the conventional garden center model and adapted it to create a unique, compelling shopping experience for its customers. It's a novel approach, and when novel works this well, it's good for a good deal of "Cha-ching!"
