Mahoney's, headquartered in Winchester, Mass., has found a great way to tap the "buy local" movement that is sweeping the nation.
Mahoney's Farmer's Market is open every Saturday through October and features fresh plant foods, cheeses, meats, fish, pastas, baked breads, desserts, coffees & olive oils. If you're tempted to add a "Say, what?" after that list, consider that Mahoney's is just part of the festivities. By co-oping with no fewer than 26 other area merchants, the garden center hosting the event has turned it into more of an EVENT!
As a result, the locals who make visits to the Farmer's Market get a real taste -- literally and figuratively -- of the local flavor and come home not only with great stuff, but with a great feeling about what they've experienced.
And if that's not good for some "Cha-ching!" ... well ... never mind ... it is.
