Calloway’s and Cornelius Nurseries, with locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and in Houston, Texas, offer several special sales events throughout the year, including the recently completed "Dawn 'til Dusk" extravaganza.
As the name implies, customers arrive with the sun (OK, technically at 7 a.m.) and leave when the sun leaves (OK, technically at 7 p.m.). In the meantime they have a chance to realize savings of 30 percent or more on every item at the garden centers.
The event makes for a busy day for everyone, particularly store employees, but it is also anexcellent way to clear inventory and give customers something to look forward to on an annual basis. Early fall can be really hot in Texas, so it's unlikely customers were prone to go to Calloway's or Cornelis. This gave them a reason to go. In other words, "Cha-ching" was well served.
