Clear Creek Nursery in Silverdale, Wash., is closing its doors, the Kitsap Sun reported.
Owner Sean Olmsted regretfully confirmed the news, and said a series of financial woes — including the down economy and the unwillingness of his bank to work with him — forced his family to close the business.
"It's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life," Olmsted said. "It's better for us to walk away and start again."
Olmsted, who bought the nursery in 1998, filed for Chapter 12 bankruptcy nine months ago. The filing has since changed to Chapter 11 after the bank refused to work with him, he said.
