Cool Springs Press founder dies

Roger Waynick suffered a massive stroke, according to the company

Cool Springs Press founder and president Roger Waynick died Tuesday after experiencing complications from a massive stroke.

The company issued the following statement: "We are unbelievably shocked. Roger was larger than life and always sought new adventures, both in life and in the publishing world he loved. Details of Roger's memorial service will be shared as they are learned. We ask that you pray for Roger's wife Nancy, and for his children, Elizabeth, Will, Roger, and Katie. We will miss him."

Waynick founded the company in 1996. After more than 15 years in business, Cool Springs Press has become one of the nation's premier publishing companies that focuses solely on gardening books. On the company website Waynick had outlined Cool Springs' mission: "We understand that gardening is a local, month-by-month experience. By providing gardening content and information based on where you live, gardeners can become more successful. Our goal is to grow gardening success by communicating with consumers and providing information relevant to where they live and garden."
