Dallas Arboretum to host plant trials field day June 23

Jimmy Turner and Brent Pemberton to make presentations at this industry-only event

The Dallas Arboretum will host an industry-only Plant Trials Field Day from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 23. The arboretum will test numerous annuals, sub-tropicals, bulbs, herbaceous perennials and woody plants to determine the best plants for the North Texas climate.

Attendees will receive advance information on the arboretum's recommended plant list for the next growing season. Jimmy Turner, the arboretum's senior director of gardens, and Texas A&M's Brent Pemberton will make presentations at the event. Pre-registration cost is $15 per person until June 18th, after which on-site registration will cost $25 per person. Payment must be made in advance for pre-registration. Register by using the Plant Trials Field Day link above.

After the trials, dinner will be provided in the trial gardens while horticulture professionals visit with plug and seed providers and local growers to find availability of plants promoted at the trials.

The trials are open to breeders and young plant suppliers, growers and plant producers, retail and wholesale nursery personnel, architects, landscapers, garden media, municipality plant specialists and trial sponsors.
