Donald McCrimmon, founder of the Nexus Greenhouse Corporation, died on March 8 at age 93.
Lynn Hackett, Nexus' director of marketing, confirmed McCrimmon's death with GIE Media. According to Hackett, McCrimmon's funeral was held on March 12 in Broomfield, Colorado.
McCrimmon founded Nexus, a greenhouse supplier, in 1967. He had an engineering background and started his business with a design for a greenhouse that would meet building requirements and withstand severe weather. McCrimmon sold the company in 1994 to Michael Porter and Cheryl Longtin. Today, the company is owned by the Gibraltar Corporation.
According to his obituary, McCrimmon is survived by two children, Kirk and Donna, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Charlotte, and a son, Neal, preceded him in death.
