Milaeger’s employee, Lars Skoglund, turned a part-time job into a full time ride. He was recently named the winner of the Endless Summer Collection World’s Easiest Display Promotion, and received a new Ford Fiesta.
Employees at the Milaeger’s Racine, Wis., location created an Endless Summer display and uploaded pictures to the contest website for a chance to win the car.
“Engaging plant displays are proven to draw in customers and boost sales,” said Jonathan Pedersen, brand and business development manager for Bailey Nurseries. “We wanted to show that displays really can make a difference, and we wanted to reward garden center employees for their creativity.”
Exclusively for independent garden center employees, this promotion ran from May through July 2011. Milaeger’s display was randomly chosen from dozens of entries.
Skoglund works at the garden center during the spring and summer. He also fills in on weekends when he is not at seminary school. The entire staff at Milaeger’s was on hand to see him accept the keys.
