The first semester of Garden Center University: Class of 2014 will be held January 24-25, 2012, at the ANLA Clinic in Louisville, Ky. Participants will meet five times over two years, graduating in January 2014. The fee is $599 per semester, with a 10-percent discount for members who pay for all semesters upfront.
The program, billed as a mini-MBA for garden centers, is led by respected industry consultant and Garden Center magazine contributing editor Ian Baldwin. GCU teaches foundations of profitable management related to finance, human resources, sales and merchandising.
Students will participate in interactive discussions and group work. Ian will share key performance indicators that attendees track and share every six months for group analysis.
