Millville, N.J. – The Espoma Company, a pioneer in organics since 1929, will introduce new greener packaging at the IGC Trade Show in August of 2018. The company is utilizing a plant-based resin on many of its fertilizer bags for 2019. The new greener packaging will contain resin from sugarcane, a renewable and sustainable source of plastic.
“We’ve gone completely solar with our production facility and offices” says Espoma Vice President Jeremy Brunner. “The new packaging with 25 percent plant-based resins will continue our commitment to greatly reduce the carbon footprint of the company.”
Espoma has enrolled in the USDA’s Bio-Preferred program - this program includes a rigorous testing process for finished packages to ensure compliance. “Espoma packaging that bears the Bio-preferred logo has been tested for the new bio resin material and certified by the USDA,” Brunner says. “It’s true and trusted third party certification.”
