Sawyer, Mich. -- Twenty-five firefighters responded to a ceiling fire at a Michigan garden center Wednesday, according to an article published on 57 News, the local ABC affiliate there.
The electrical fire at Sawyer Home and Garden Center started just before 11 a.m. Dec. 12. Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly, and employees were back inside, cleaning up the mess just minutes later. And later that day, customers were browsing and shopping, unaware of the emergency situation that arose hours before.
Frank Benzing, president of SummerWinds Nursery, wasn’t so lucky after his San Jose, Calif., store caught fire and flames destroyed the business. But Benzing had been proactive and was already prepared for the worst. Read more here about how Benzing handled the situation, and how you can effectively respond to emergencies like fires and other unexpected circumstances.
