The Garden Center Group has announced that Tim Quebedeaux will join the group as a Service Provider. Joining forces with Steve Bailey to form RetailKPI Consulting LLC, they will provide financial management and analysis for their clients, complementing its team.
Bailey has been a Service Provider for the group since 2001, focusing on the financial side of the business. He has developed a number of systems and programs aimed at helping garden centers get a better grasp on how money moves through their business, including the Weekly Department Review Report (WDR Report) which tracks the weekly sales of participating group centers in 25 categories. This open peer, industry exclusive allows garden centers to compare their weekly sales, average sale and transaction counts to communicate with reporting centers.
Bailey also manages the group's Annual P&L Study, another industry exclusive. The Annual P&L Study includes sales and expenses, comparing percent of sales for the garden center to both Best Practices and High Achievers Group. This study also includes inventory turns, margin targets by category and the resulting Gross Margin Return On Inventory Investment (GMROII).

Quebedeaux has more than 20 years of garden center retailing experience, both of his grandfathers were in the green industry – one a farmer and the other a Horticulture Professor. While earning his bachelor’s degree at LSU in Ornamental Horticulture with Mathematics and Psychology minors, he started working at his first Garden Center, Clegg’s Nursery, and has never looked back.

Quebedeaux will begin his work by taking on the compilation of the Weekly Department Review (WDR) and assist Bailey with the Annual P&L Study. He will also accompany Bailey in onsite consultations.
