Garden Center magazine contributing editor Ian Baldwin and the American Nursery & Landscape Association announced that the 4th Semester of their Garden Center University, Class of 2012, will convene in Raleigh N.C. for a three-day class July 20-22.
The 42 class members will study "Inventory Control," "Open to Buy," "Smart Investment Decision Making," "Producing Your Business Plan" and will learn to discover their own motivation style. The class also includes a full-day tour of three dynamic local garden centers (Homewood Nursery, Logan Trading Company and DeWayne’s).
Baldwin said this fourth class is the point at which “we go deeper into the management practices that separate thriving retailers from merely surviving ones.” The group will also share YTD numbers and “Learnings” from this challenging season.
