California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers (CANGC) announced the closing of its Garden Market Expo trade show last month. The event has been held in Las Vegas since 1995.
“The current economic recession necessitates change and the time has come to move forward with a new business plan for the association,” said Chris Martinez, CANGC chairman of the board. “We greatly appreciate all the support we have received over the years for Garden Market Expo from both members and nonmembers whether exhibitors, attendees, or hard-working volunteers who helped make the show possible.”
A new event aimed at growers, landscapers and retailers will be launched in 2010. The Nursery Mart will be held in conjunction with the California Grown Show on June 2, 2010 at the Orange County Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. The day before the show, June 1, CANGC will host its annual Growers Summit Conference and a retail education/tour event.
