The independent garden center industry is making strides and growing stronger, according to our 2012 State of the Industry survey.
This year, 63 percent of IGCs reported an increase in sales this year, up from 47 percent in 2011, with a big boost in annuals, perennials and edibles. We saw an increased demand for certain trends like fairy gardening and indoor or container gardening, while interest in trees and shrubs declined.
