A University of Michigan architecture professor believes temporary greenhouses might buoy the flailing Detroit housing market.
Steven Mankouche says converting the derelict homes in the Detroit region could aid the economy and hopeful turnaround, according to an article about the professor in Metro Mode. Mankouche and his wife connected with Burnside Farm's owner Kate Daughdrill, who owned a collection of plots in the city.
They eventually built a greenhouse, using a burnt down home, for her property. They now hope to do something similar for the other properties. To read the full article go to Metro Mode's website.
