New York – The GWA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable subsidiary of the GWA: The Association for Garden Communicators, continues its commitment to provide financial assistance to deserving students who wish to pursue or further a career in horticultural communications. In recent years, over $90,000 has been awarded to outstanding students.
This year's scholarship awards include the Kathleen Fisher Memorial Scholarship and general scholarship grants, ranging from $250 to $2,000 per student at the discretion of GWA Foundation Board of Directors. College and technical school students, freshman through senior, are encouraged to apply, particularly it they are majoring in horticulture, plant science or journalism, with an interest in garden communications.
Scholarship awards support tuition aid or aid in the purchase of textbooks, garden books, and special horticultural projects to further a student’s horticultural journalism skills or their garden photographic skills. Additionally, scholarship recipients receive complimentary full-year membership to GWA.

The application period is now open for GWA Foundation’s scholarships, and it will remain open until December 20, 2016.
