The IGC East trade show is underway in the Philadelphia metro area, and there are a couple of events retailers won't want to miss after the show floor closes on Thursday:
On Friday, August 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Brian Riddle, owner of Homestead Gardens, invites industry peers to an open house at the company's Davidsonville location, two hours south of the IGC East show. Riddle will discuss the company's Modern Homesteading store-within-a-store concept, and how indoor gardening supplies, which are the anchor of this department, can help IGCs connect with new customers and boost traffic. Read more about Modern Homesteading and what Homestead Gardens is doing in our July issue.
On Saturday, August 6, GWA: The Association of Garden Communicators will launch its newest educational program, focused exclusively on innovative ideas and the next generation with the inaugural NextGen Summit. This year’s meeting, titled “New Routes to Horticulture,” is hosted at Longwood Gardens, outside Philadelphia, Pa., and includes sessions with industry experts and access to some of the finest gardens in the county.
