GREENSBORO, N.C. - Hip Labels, LLC is introducing HIPClip, a new generation of hang tag display stake, to the marketplace for 2014. Developed in conjunction with and field tested at several large U.S. nurseries, patent-pending HIPClip eliminates major functional issues inherent to current display stakes.
Unveiled to the industry at 2013 summer trade shows, HIPClip has received immediate and enthusiastic attention from growers and retailers. It was chosen as one of the SNA Retailers’ Choice Awards at SNA 2013 in Atlanta in August. HIPClip’s innovative attachment mechanism enables it to easily, quickly, and securely attach to a wide range of hang tag formats. The nagging problem of tags blowing off, associated with traditional stakes, is eliminated, even in gale force winds. Furthermore, advanced design of the bottom of the HIPClip makes it attachable to the lip of virtually any size plant container, eliminating the need for multiple sizes of pot locks– one size fits all. HIPClip is produced with a blend of virgin and recycled plastic, is recyclable, and is wholly and proudly manufactured in the US. Using HIPClip in tandem with HIP Labels’ exclusive green tag substrate, MilkMade, offers the industry’s only recycled/recyclable stake/tag combination.
Scaled up production of HIPClip begins in December 2013, with initial quantities committed to HIP’s trial nursery growers. It will be available to the industry at large February 1, 2014. HIPClip is exclusively available from HIP Labels and its collaborative container partner, New Christie Ventures of Connecticut.
“HIPClip is going to change everything related to tag display stakes,” said Bob Lovejoy, president of Hip Labels. “It’s easy to use, fail safe, and economical for growers. For garden centers, it offers the uniform, attractive, and secure retail presentation that enhances plant sales.”
Hip Labels is based in Greensboro, N.C. and provides horticultural branding products to plant producers and retailers in the U.S. and Canada. The company offers a wide array of stake and hang tags, advanced designs for pot wraps, and a variety of small and large format point of purchase signage.
