Thanks to a recently announced a strategic alliance, Master Nursery Garden Center members will be able to make merchandise purchases through Home & Garden Showplace, a business unit of True Value.
“Supporting and strengthening the independent retailer in today’s competitive marketplace is the cornerstone of the True Value co-op,” said Lyle Heidemann, CEO at True Value Company. “This alliance supports those cornerstones providing a greater opportunity for our combined retailers to win at retail with the lawn & garden as well as nursery consumer.”
Master Nursery is also looking to the future success for its retailers.
“I anticipate this alliance with True Value will prove very beneficial to our members,” said Bill Jameson, president and CEO of Master Nursery Garden Centers. “It’s a classic example of the kind of win-win relationship that Master Nursery seeks to establish. In particular, True Value’s network of 12 regional distribution centers will allow us to better serve members in many regions of the country.”
The alliance will directly and immediately benefit Master Nursery retailers by providing Master Nursery Garden Centers the opportunity to purchase from among True Value Company’s 60,000+ warehouse-stocked products. For current Home & Garden Showplace retailers, the alliance will bring the ability to participate in Garden Elements, a proprietary program of Master Nursery Garden Centers including both a branded annual program and a new line of organic plant foods.
“Combining the efforts of our two organizations, I see this alliance as a vital step in making our entire industry stronger,” said Sue Amatangelo, director of the Home & Garden Showplace business unit at True Value Company. “We are excited to be an integral part of this opportunity to unite for the betterment of the industry.”
