All-America Selections and its parent organization, the National Garden Bureau, announced that the 2025 International Plant Trialing Conference was such a success that the next International Plant Trialing Conference is scheduled to be held in three years, in 2028.
Previously, the event has only been held every five to 10 years.
The three-day event, held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota, in October 2025, drew more than 160 plant trialing experts from four countries, with representation from breeders, brokers, growers, academics and public gardens across North America. The location also allowed attendees to visit active trials at Bailey Nurseries and the University of Minnesota.
A total of 45 industry experts led more than 20 specialized panel presentations covering a wide variety of trial types and techniques.
"The success of this year's event reinforces our commitment to providing future top-tier professional growth opportunities for our plant trialing community," said Alicain Carlson of Syngenta Flowers and president of the National Garden Bureau. "The strong turnout and overwhelmingly positive feedback signal the continued high demand for professional development in our industry."
All-America Selections thanked this year's conference sponsors: American Takii, Ball FloraPlant, Beekenkamp, Bejo Seeds, Benary, Dümmen Orange, Express Seed Company, Garden Genetics, Metrolina Greenhouses, PanAmerican Seed, Plant Development Services, Pure Line Seeds, Sakata, Smith Gardens and Syngenta Flowers.
