Sales Manager Rich Bailey notes that 2021 will mark the Diamond Anniversary of the nursery that was established in 1946 by Evelyn and J. Frank Schmidt, Jr. While it was tough to compress 75 years of “growing New Ideas” into 23 minutes, the video shares history, cultural practices, new plant development, growing innovations and a flyover of much of the operation’s 3,000 acres spread across three Oregon farms.
“In a normal year, we give many tours. Of all the things we’ve given up this year, what we miss most is welcoming visitors to the nursery! Due to health and safety concerns surrounding the pandemic, there’s been little opportunity for visitors to tour our farms, fields and greenhouses. That’s why we’re delivering a virtual visit to audiences around the world,” Bailey said.
Rich and the JFS staff invite industry members to hop into the Suburban, sit back, buckle up, roll down the window, and ride along on our virtual tour. Along the way, you’ll meet some of the great people who team up to grow some of the finest trees in the world.
