Peoria, IL - Keystone Steel & Wire has been recognized for their company-wide recycling program with the 2012 Steel Manufacturers Association Achievement in Environmental Stewardship and Recycling Award.
The company recycles about 800,000 tons of scrap metal at their plant each year. Keystone has expanded its efforts from the manufacturing floor to administrative offices and now, more than 60 tons of packing materials are sent to recycling centers. Everything from cardboard boxes, paper and plastic bags to aluminum oxide sand barrels are collected at sites throughout the plant.
