Milton, ONT. — Thrive '15, merging several popular green industry events, takes place Sept. 16 to 17 at the Ancaster Fairgrounds in Jerseyville, Ont. Its anchor is Garden Expo, Canada's fall buying show for the retail garden center industry. Moving Garden Expo from October to September offers the industry key advantages, according to a press release from Landscape Ontario, which organizes the event. Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association, is comprised of over 2,000 member companies, ten sector groups and nine local chapters. Its trade mission is to promote the horticulture industry in Ontario.
"September works much better for placing my merchandise orders," says retailer Michael Van Dongen of Van Dongen's Landscaping and Nurseries, Hornby. Nursery growers are a key exhibitor segment.
Tom Intven of Canadale Nurseries in St. Thomas, echoed this sentiment. "For us as growers, it provides a much more timely opportunity to ‘show off’ our product," he says. "We welcome the change and look forward to seeing all of our customers and friends at the exciting new location and a new time.”
