A Calloway's Nursery store manager team was all set to undergo some routine fall training Thursday, when the group did a collective double-take, followed by a lot of "pssssst"s and "quick, look here!"s.
Here's the story, thanks to Kim Bird, vice president of marketing for the Fort Worth, Texas-based garden center chain:
"Today was an exciting day at work. Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery hosted a training session for the store management team at the BRIT (Botanical Research Institute of Texas). Touring the facility was fabulous, but the high point was a visit from Former First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush!
"During the training I noticed a group looking into our class from the hallway window. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was Mrs. Laura Bush! I rushed to the hall and asked if she would take a picture with the class. AND she agreed (before her Secret Service Agent could say anything). Check out this link to the MyTexasGarden Facebook page where we posted the photo of Mrs. Laura Bush posing with the Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery store managers!"
